our story
made for anyone who forgets.
righto started with a simple, slightly embarrassing idea: most of us don't forget because we don't care. we forget because nothing reminds us until it's too late.
why we started
we started righto because we kept getting it wrong. not the big stuff, the dates. a birthday remembered at 6pm. a card grabbed at the servo on the way over, signed with just a name because we didn't know what to say. it was never that we didn't care. nothing reminded us in time, and when something did, we stared at a blank card. so we built the thing we wished we'd had: every card for the year in one pack, the date on each one, and a week out, a few questions to help work out what we actually want to say.
the gift is never the hard part. you can sort a gift in an afternoon. the card is what gets you: by the time you remember, you're standing at the servo choosing between a glittery unicorn and "to a special niece".
so righto does the boring bit once a year. you tell us your dates. we send one pack with a card for every one of them, labelled and sorted in order. a week before each date, we email you which card to pull out and a few questions about the person it's for, to help you work out what you actually want to say. no lines to copy. you write the card. it sounds like you.
what we care about
- your handwriting. we don't post cards on your behalf. the whole point is that it comes from you.
- cards worth keeping. off-white paper, two inks, a small aussie critter, a line or two of dry humour and plenty of room to write.
- the kids too. every kid gets their own cards for mum or dad (or a step-parent), colour-in or write-your-own, so mother's day and father's day stop being a scramble.
- no upsell machine. the reminders and the questions are free. we don't sell you flowers in them.
- your dates stay yours. we use them to make your pack and send your reminders. never sold, never shared for marketing.
who's behind it
righto is a small business based in australia. every pack is checked, sorted and packed by hand before it goes in the post.
