privacy

as a small australian business, the privacy act 1988 may not strictly apply to us, but we voluntarily follow the australian privacy principles anyway.

while we're waitlist-only

our store isn't open yet. until it is, we only collect the email you give us to join the waitlist and any optional card-preference votes you make. the rest of the list below applies once you place an order.

what we collect

• your name, email, delivery address and (optionally) mobile number
• the dates you give us: birthdays, anniversary and any add-on dates
• first names of your partner and kids, and which card style suits each kid
• if it's a gift: the buyer's name and email
• order and payment records (card details are handled by our payment provider, not us)
• basic website analytics via our host (netlify). we don't use third-party advertising trackers

why we collect it

to print your labels, pack and post your cards, send your reminders, and answer your questions. that's it. we collect the minimum we need: first names only for kids, and no ages or photos.

marketing emails

reminders are part of the service. marketing emails (new cards, offers) are separate and only sent if you tick the box. every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, as the spam act 2003 requires.

who we share it with

only the services needed to run righto: our website host, netlify, which also runs our waitlist and contact forms and delivers form emails; when you place an order, our store and payment provider (shopify, once checkout is switched on); our printer, once the store is live, as packs are printed to order in australia; and australia post for delivery. netlify stores data in the usa, so your waitlist details may be held overseas. we never sell your data.

how we keep it safe

accounts are protected with strong passwords and two-factor sign-in, access is limited to people who need it, and we delete or de-identify your details within 24 months after you leave the waitlist or stop being a customer.

you can ask to see, correct or delete your details any time by emailing hello@rightocards.com.au. if you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, tell us first; you can also contact the office of the australian information commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
